True Love Moments: New Branding & Website

True Love Moments: A Case Study

One of my favorite things in the world is creating brands and website. Especially when it comes to doing it for long-time friends. My friend Linda, from True Love Moments, has been dear to me for years.

In March 2023, she actually married my husband and I at our tiny elopement. I’ve worked with her on at least a dozen weddings, so I know the intention she brings to each wedding day.

Which makes it easier to create a brand!

So let’s go over the journey she and I went through together to make this amazing brand and website!

The Beginning

In May 2023, Linda reached out to me for a new website and rebrand for her officiant company, True Love Weddings. When she brought it up, my brain was instantly flowing with ideas.

See, Linda is one of the kindest and most intentional souls I’ve ever met. She’s so patient and when she gets to know her clients, you can feel the fact she means it.

So I knew developing this brand would need the same level of intention and depth.

She was, at the time, functioning off a Wix website, for future reference.

The Audit

To understand her situation more, I conducted a website/brand audit. While I’m kicking myself for somehow losing the screen shot of where True Love Weddings was positioned in SEMrush, these were the facts I have in her audit deck:

Domain Authority: 7

Site Speed From GTMetrix:

Rankings

She wasn’t on the first or second page for any desired keywords. She also brand dilution due to other companies using “True Love Weddings” in other parts of the industry.

Building The Brand

When I do brand development kick-off meetings, they’re usually around two hours. I listen to pain points, go over competitors, and ask a ton of questions about the vision and motivation behind the company.

Linda wanted to modernize, but keep herself approachable. Since her livelihood revolves around romance, we agreed that creating a brand that supports this was the best course of action.

A Small Rebrand

Pretty darn early into the process, Linda asked me if I felt like “True Love Weddings” was pigeon-holing her into more weddings and less the other events she loves, like baptisms.

I agreed with her and had actually already planned to bring it up in the next meeting. After a quick looksie on trademarks and urls, we agreed that a simple adjust to “True Love Moments” made the most sense for the new era of her company.

Brand Development Draft

For the branding, it took a little finagling to find the right fonts and colors. Actually, the colors were the easiest to agree on.

But the font, as usual, was trIcky. Like any other client, I presented 3-5 logo variations, each one distinctly different. This is me getting the general “feel” of a client’s mindset. To make sure we’re on the same page as much as possible.

The one I developed for her focused on a serif font, to offer a more high end, classy feel. But the handwritten font brought a feeling of familiarity and friendliness, a vital attribute for someone working in weddings.

Website Development

Once I had a brand built that she loved, I moved to building her the WordPress website of her dreams.

As with any clients, we went through two revisions. The first draft will always need some adjustments and work. Before I send the first draft, though, I send over a very fancy and very official wire frame for my ideas.

The wireframe is there as a base, another way for me to get a feel for a client’s vision. The final website looks a bit different than the website homepage wireframe above, because that’s just how it goes almost every single time.

We wanted to focus on three different service areas in central Texas:

  • Killeen/Waco/Temple (this often gets lumped together)
  • Austin
  • Georgetown

To set her up for SEO success, we created a service page for each area. Each page was built in a similar outline, but none of them had the same words. They also had a map attached to each one, to further assist in SEO.

This is the benefit of having a website developer that also specializes in SEO!

The Final Product

After a couple of months of hard work and communication, True Love Moments was launched!

It really was a labor of love on both our parts and as she was one of my first agency clients, this website/brand holds a really special place in my heart.

Wrapping Up

It was such a blast making Linda’s new brand and website. The whole process took two months and a bit of that was waiting for the right time to launch.
