Quick Content Sprint Case Study
The key to a lot of websites succeeding quickly with SEO is investing in content. For this site, when we first started, we decided to pursue the venue angle. My client is a wedding photographer competing in the very saturated Austin market, so I knew we had to be very intentional on how we rolled everything out.
This client began with:
- A Squarespace website
- Averaged 210 keywords in July 2023
- A homepage with almost no words
- No internal linking strategy
- Messy URLs
- Existing pages formatted completely wrong
Our Strategy
Squarespace is notoriously awful for SEO, so I wasn’t sure if we would find success immediately, so I made sure to pursue Local SEO keywords worth paying attention to. From July 2023 to September 2023, she gained eight pieces of content, the average length being 1800 words. We also focused on optimizing six current blogs, albeit most needed a complete rewrite while retaining current content.
Optimizing The Home Page
Then about a month after we began to post the content and forcing Google to index them immediately, I went in and optimized the home page. I added an About section, refreshed images, and revamped headers. It wasn’t a huge revamp, as we have plans to redo the entire site by the end of the year.
The boost worked wonders, as you can see.

After adding almost 30,000 words to her website, there was an 100%+ increase in the amount of keywords the site ranked for. She went from 210 keywords in July 2023 to over 400 in September 2023. By November 2023, it was over 650 keywords.
That number continues to rise daily.

In August 2023, Google rolled out its second Core Update for the year. In the above graph, you can see a decrease in positioning (the orange line), but her content held strong and she not only rebounded within two weeks, she’s higher than before.
